PUP response to publishing supply chain issues

The media and publishing community have been seeking PUP’s comments on supply chain issues because of our proactive and successful measures to mitigate the challenges. These include shifting publication dates by a few weeks as soon as printers alerted us to their limited capacity and lengthening schedules last year. We also have built these new printer schedules into the overall lifecycle of a book, to be able to optimize marketing and promotions plans. And we have dedicated more resources, including staff, to publishing operations.

Throughout the pandemic, the demand for PUP books has surged, as has been the case with many publishers. Our engagement with a range of printing technologies and printing partners has enabled us to meet this demand and grow the global impact of our publishing even in straitened times.
